EARTH WEEK AT NORTHEAST

It’s EARTH week! Each day we will focus on different areas that students can do to help the planet.

Today (MONDAY) we will focus on liquid waste. Students will be encouraged to finish or dump out the remaining liquid from their beverages. If the liquid goes in the ALL IN ONE recycling it will contaminate the paper that could have been recycled. It also costs the city more money for the over 50 lbs in liquid waste to be transported. Students will be GREENWORKS helpers for the day to monitor the liquids and recycling by wearing a green wrist band for the day.

Students will also get reusable snack bags with the Northeast Logo. Friday will be zero waste snack day challenge. Everything will have to be able to be recycled or compostable.

Tomorrow (TUESDAY) we will talk about litter with students!
