The Northeast PTO is pleased to sponsor the 2024 Spring Chess Club, taught by Merritt Nesin.
Classes will begin on Monday, January 22nd. The club will meet after school from 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm. Parents must pick up their students at 4:15 pm. There is no after school bus transportation.
Registration is open to students in grades 2nd – 5th and is limited to a maximum of 24 players. The cost is $50 for the session. All levels of players are welcome to join. There will be lessons on the rules of chess for beginners, and lessons on strategies for those who are more advanced. Sportsmanship and thinking will be stressed.
Please follow these steps to register your child:
- Pre-register by email to Merritt Nesin at [email protected], and include your child’s name, teacher, grade and your telephone number.
- Mr. Nesin will contact you to let you know if you are among the first 24 students to enroll.
- After your enrollment has been confirmed, you will receive an email from the Northeast PTO with additional details, including a registration form and instructions for payment. Payment will be due prior to first day of class.
