5 R’s TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT
Refuse – don’t take an item just because it’s free! Kids plastic cups and lids at restaurants, plastic cutlery, straws, or napkins are good examples of items you can refuse
Reduce – don’t use as many single use items, instead try reusable bags vs plastic or paper
Reuse – repurpose items like jars or make crafts out of recycled items
Recycle – for single use plastic, clean it and put cap on bottle so it can be recycled
Rot – start a compost bin in a container at home! Food and paper scraps can be broken down into healthy soil again
