Friday is Funny Hat Day!

Last month’s Mix It Up at Lunch Day was a big success (and brought us some exciting media coverage!), and on Friday, April 21, kids will be mixing it up again! Kids can wear funny hats to school for an added element of silliness and fun!

We also need parent volunteers for each lunch shift to help facilitate conversations as kids mix it up with random seating assignments. Please sign up at the link. Thank you!

Northeast Day at Stamford Symphony

Sunday, March 5, is Northeast School Day at the Stamford Symphony!

The Stamford Symphony has donated tickets for its March 5th concert to Northeast School. We are selling them for $5 each and our school keeps the proceeds (after a $2 theater fee) to help fund arts programs.

The March 5th concert begins at 3 pm at the Palace Theater and provides a wonderful opportunity for our students and their families to experience the magnificent music of Venetian Carnival: Albinoni, Gabrieli, Monteverdi, Mahler, Stravinsky, and Vivaldi. Liz Mann, flute, will be the featured soloist.

Before the concert, at 2 PM, students can participate in MusiKids, a 45 minute, interactive music education experience that will help children understand the afternoon’s performance and provide an opportunity to meet one of the talented musicians.

Look out for a flyer in your child’s folder, or download here. Return it to “Stamford Symphony/PTO Mailbox” before February 28th, along with your check payable to Northeast PTO. This is a perfect opportunity to support our school, make money for our organization, and hear some incredible music with your family and friends!

Contact Tara Gravel with questions.

Dads and Donuts!

Northeast PTO welcomes all dads (uncles/grandfathers/VIP guy in your child’s life) to a special breakfast on Friday, January 27 at 7:30 am. This event is for all students (boys AND girls) and their important father figure. Enjoy coffee and donuts with your child and then take a few minutes for a tour of your child’s classroom. Teachers would love to meet you and your child will be so proud to show both you and the school off. Nut-free and gluten-free donuts will also be offered!

The PTO knows mornings are hectic, but we hope families can mark their calendars now to set aside the time to bring dads into the school. In addition to sending your own VIP into school, we also need help from a few volunteers. Please volunteer to help with set-up, serving, clean-up, or the entire event. Contact Maya Noren or Jacque Sanchez with any questions.
