Got Colored Bottle Tops & Plastic Bottles?

Northeast’s very own Art teacher, Ms. Terry, needs your help! She is collecting colored bottle tops (think Gatorade, orange juice) and plastic containers to create unique art projects with Northeast students. Ms. Terry has set up a bin outside her art room to collect these items. Please send any empty bottles/bottle tops you have at home to school with your child next week. Thank you!

It’s Amazing What One Parent Can Do!

Stamford’s Parent Leadership Training Institute Team, in partnership with the Stamford Public Education Foundation and Stamford Public Schools, is pleased to announce Parents Supporting Educational Excellence (Parents SEE)– an in-depth leadership training  program for 20-25 select participants.

Stamford PLTI is looking for parents, grandparents, guardians or other adults to join the free 2018 Parents SEE program beginning this March. Through a retreat and 12-week instructional course on Thursday evenings, participants will explore leadership, change, educational policies and partnering.  School leaders will attend as guests, facilitating dialogue and policy partnerships. Participants will acquire skills to address public policy issues and engage as civic leaders to improve schools for all children.

Candidates will be selected from a pool of diverse applicants. Family dinner will be provided and childcare and transportation are available as needed. To find out more and apply online visit SPEF’s website. Alternately, you may download an application and relevant paperwork. Contact PLTI Coordinator Regan Allan with any questions.

Awesome Junior Achievement Volunteers Needed – Grades 1-4

Junior Achievement is a global program that teaches kids basic social studies and economic concepts.  Our school has been able to offer JA lessons in grades 1-4 thanks to parent volunteers like you. Can you help this year?

Your time commitment would involve leading up to 5 classes– 30-45 minutes each– at a time that is mutually convenient for you and the teacher. (Usually after Spring Break.) Volunteer with a friend and you could reduce the time commitment to 2-3 classes. New volunteers are required to attend a training class.  Sound fun? Please sign up to volunteer to lead Junior Achievement in your child’s classroom. Contact Laura Voros with any questions.
