Learning To Look Volunteers

4th and 5th Grade Parents, Learning to Look Needs You!

Want to understand the art you and your child see everywhere you go? Then this art appreciation program is for you! Help students learn how to analyze artwork, as well as become more confident looking at, thinking and talking about art.

NO previous background or experience in art or teaching needed!

While a schedule has yet to be finalized, parent volunteers will attend a one-hour training session with Marguerite Felsenfeld, a Northeast parent trained to teach Learning to Look and with several years of experience with the program in the Stamford Public Schools, who will convey all you need to know to teach the same lesson to your assigned class.

You then will arrange for a convenient time with your teacher to conduct each lesson (hopefully a total of 6 lessons) and cap off the program in the Spring with a fabulous visit to the Yale University Art Gallery.

This is sure to be one of the most fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities available! Time commitment will depend on COVID protocols in place in the Spring, plus at least one Yale University Art Gallery adult only trip to preview the artwork.

Please contact Marguerite Felsenfeld if interested
