Read Across America week is March 4th-8th. Read Across America Week is a time to celebrate our love for reading! We like to celebrate all week long with each day being a different theme. At the end of the week on Friday, we will be conducting a whole school D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) at the end of the day.

Share YOUR Ideas for Northeast Capital Projects!

Do you have an idea for how the PTO can enhance the Northeast community?! The Northeast PTO funds various capital projects, programs, resources and teaching equipment that enhance the student experience at Northeast. Last year the PTO was able to allocate funding for the installation of a 20′ climbing wall in our gym, new gym mats, a color poster maker, a new camcorder and more!

Share YOUR ideas for how the PTO can give back to our community this year by completing this form. A PDF version of the form can be found here.  To have your proposal considered, please submit funding requests by Monday, February 26th as we will be voting during our March Board meeting. Northeast’s 2024 SPEF Educator Award Nominee

The PTO received many strong nominations and we would like to recognize our 3 finalists – congratulations to Ms. Ronaghan, Ms. Kanel and Ms. McLeod! All three finalists are exceptional educators and deserving of the award, however, we were only able to nominate one educator.

It is our honor to announce that Desiree Ronaghan, 1st grade teacher, is Northeast’s 2024 SPEF Educator Award Nominee! After 29 years of teaching, her impact on her students, colleagues, and the broader educational community remains robust and immeasurable. Congratulations Desiree and best of luck at this year’s SPEF Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony in March!  Stay tuned to our social media accounts over the coming weeks as we’ll be featuring all the Northeast educators that were nominated.

Northeast Food Drive: Super Bowl Edition!!

Join the excitement and score big in our food drive! We’re tackling hunger by collecting pantry essentials for those in need. Let’s unite as a school community to make a difference and ensure everyone has a winning meal! All donations will go to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. Items Needed:

  • Pasta & Sauces
  • Cereal, Peanut Butter/Jelly
  • Snack Food
  • Shelf-stable Milk
  • Single-Serve Items such as Mac & Cheese

How to Play:
Bring your donations to the school entryway and place them in either the box for the Kansas City Chiefs or the box for the San Francisco 49ers. Let’s see which team’s fans can make the biggest impact off the field!

Talent Show Raffles are Back! Enter Your Student to Win!

Would your student like to be Principal for a day? Or maybe hitch a ride to school with a Stamford police officer? Fancy a family tour of the Stamford police station? Enter your student to win one of these fun experiences and support the Northeast Talent Show! Entries open to ALL students in ALL grades!

⭐️ Winners will be selected at Talent Show intermission – November 3rd. You need NOT be present to win.

    1. Purchase entires online with credit card via our Online School Store
    2. Send the entry form (ENGLISH SPANISH) in an envelope to school with cash/check made out to NEPTO by Fri 11/3
    3. Entries accepted via Venmo @NEPTO (Enter each fundraiser with a separate Venmo transaction – please include name of fundraiser & student name/grade in Notes)
    4. Stop by the PTO table at the Talent Show on Friday, 11/3 to purchase tickets

Monster Dash – Rescheduled for Fri 10/27

A reminder that our Monster Dash outdoor fun run and obstacle course was rescheduled for this Friday, October 27th due to the rain. Volunteers are still needed to help setup the course and chaperone the race, please sign up here.

WAY TO GO Northeast Stars! We’ve met our school-wide fundraising goal of $31,415 so let’s get excited to see Dr. Marinello, Coach P and Mrs. Lubowitz take a pie in the face!! The competition for the top fundraising class in each grade is still fierce so keep those donations coming and let’s see which classrooms will win a fun party from the PTO. We are shooting for 100% participation so remember no amount is too small! That means a pledge of even 5 cents counts towards our school goal! Classrooms with full participation earn extra recess time. All the money raised will help pay for grade level field trips, enrichment activities, and other extra-curricular programs.

⭐️ We are accepting online donations until 11:59pm on Friday, October 27th.

⭐️Cash and check donations should be given to your classroom teacher by Friday, 10/27.

Monster Dash 2023

Let’s get excited for the Northeast Monster Dash – our BIGGEST school fundraiser of the year! The Monster Dash is an outdoor fun run and obstacle course, designed by our Northeast PE teachers, that will be held on Friday, October 20th. All information can be found on our Monster Dash page.

Students will run during the school day with their classes to complete as many laps as they can in 20 minutes. We will need parent volunteers to help setup the course and chaperone the race, please sign up here.

We’re on our way to earning some fun parties with our classmates and are getting closer to our goal of $31,415. If we reach that amount, Dr. Marinello will take a pie in the face, and who doesn’t want to see that?!! Keep sharing your Monster Dash fundraising pages with family and friends. Find the email from Northeast Elementary PTO (support@99pleadges) and make your pledge. Remember, NO amount is too small. Full participation from your classmates earns extra recess time. There is no better investment than your children’s education. All the money raised will help pay for grade level field trips, enrichment activities, and other extra-curricular programs.

Yearbooks Will Be Sent Home This Week

The 2022-2023 Northeast Yearbooks have arrived! If you ordered a yearbook, please check your student’s backpack for their book. Yearbooks will be given to the classroom teachers starting on Tuesday.

There are 10 yearbooks left for purchase. If interested, please email [email protected]. Yearbooks will be sold to the first 10 who inquire. Yearbooks are $28 each.
