Spring Book Fair Starts This Week

The Northeast Book Fair opens this week! Students will start visiting the fair on Monday with their classroom teachers. Click here to view the class schedule. We are excited about all the new book titles that have arrived as well as the many science activities and stationary items available for purchase.

Scholastic accepts cash, credit card and e-Wallet for all purchases. You can still set up an e-wallet for your child through our Book Fair information page https://www.scholastic.com/bf/northeastelementaryschool

Northeast is extremely grateful for the generous donations made by Mona Mitri, of Tutor Me SOS and the management of Code Ninjas in Stamford, as well as the families that have contributed to our Book Buddies fund. Their generosity gives many of our students the opportunity to select a NEW book from the fair along with their classmates. You can still contribute to the Book Buddies e-Wallet https://shop.scholastic.com/ewallet/fund?lang=en_US&walletId=42f6513c-026a-43d9-8175-e61ce331540a to help a student in need. No amount is too small, and you are guaranteed to make a child smile.

We look forward to seeing you at the Northeast Book Fair!

PTO Fundraiser “Principal For A Day”: Joey Claps

Congratulations to our “Principal For A Day” PTO fundraiser winner, Joey Claps! See his below message about being Northeast’s Principal on Friday, January 13th:

“As principal for the day I wanted to thank all the students, staff, and parents that helped make this a great day for me. During my day as principal, I made the executive decision that next week all students will receive 7 extra minutes during one day of recess. This adjustment came after intense negotiations with Dr. Marinello. I am happy to say that I was able make this change and get the great students of Northeast this needed extra recess time.

During the day as principal I was able to visit a lot of classes where teachers were working with their students teaching lessons about Martin Luther King Day. Also, I was able to help out with many of the administrative responsibilities at the school; while also finding time to read a book to a first grade class. It was a busy day!”
