Help Make Northeast Green- Join GREEN WORKS!

Northeast is beginning its journey to reduce its waste through recycling, composting, student-led projects, a school garden and more! We would like Northeast to not just teach our children math and literacy, but also to teach our children to have a sense of social responsibility and of community. We would like to use our garden to feed those families in our own school who are struggling and at the same time give real life, hands-on gardening & cooking experience to our children. We would also like them to understand how important recycling and reducing waste is to creating a cleaner more sustainable future for everyone.

We are building a group of parents to work with teachers, custodians, and administrators in a team approach to change our culture to be sustainable for the future. Please contact Alicia Teitelbaum or Maya Noren if you’re interested in being a part of our GREEN WORKS team at Northeast! We will kick off our progress towards a “greener” school in September, but are hoping to meet the week of June 11th to discuss next steps. Please email us to let us know you’re on board to help. If you can’t make a meeting, but would still like to be involved, please let us know. Thank you!
