It’s that time of year! Time to order your 2017-2018 Northeast Yearbook! All K-5 students are represented in this time capsule of an amazing year. Each yearbook is $23 and quantities are limited. You may download and submit an order form to the main office if you’d like to pay by cash or check. Prefer to pay by credit card? You may order and pay online, as well. ORDER DEADLINE IS 4/2.
Flex Academies is coming to Northeast April 16th – June 4th. Flex offers paid after school programs on Mondays & Wednesdays. Check out this season’s brochure to learn more about all the fun offerings! Hard copies of the brochure will also be coming home with children this week. Registration starts Wednesday 3/21 at 8am and will run until 5pm on Monday, April 2nd. Registration is ONLINE ONLY and is first come, first serve. The Northeast Field Day T-Shirt Sale is currently underway! Order forms were sent home in homework folders, so please check your child’s backpack. You may place an order online or by filling out the paper form and returning it to the PTO Mailbox in the Main Office with payment. We hope that everyone chooses to order a shirt this year…we have a fun field day logo and this year every class in a grade will have a different color!
The deadline to order is Wednesday, April 4th!…… so don’t wait, order today! Thank you in advance for your support and for showing your Northeast school spirit!
Northeast’s talented fifth graders present “MADAGASCAR: A Musical Adventure Jr.” Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo, King Julien and a group of hilarious, plotting penguins bound onto the Northeast School stage on March 23 and 24 at 7:00 pm (doors 6:30). Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, the show follows four crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo. Filled with adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar JR. will make you “Move It, Move It!”
Tickets are on sale now at www.northeastmusicals.org. We have so many talented kids that the show is double-cast!!! The “Red Cast” will perform during the school day on 3/22 for K-2nd grades and on Friday, 3/23, in the evening. The “Blue Cast” will perform during the school day on 3/23 for 3rd-5th graders and on Saturday, 3/24, in the evening. Soooo…. bring your kids on Friday or Saturday night to see a completely different cast!
Northeast’s next Mix-It-Up Lunch is coming to a cafeteria near you on Tuesday, March 20th… and it’s a cozy one! On Pajama Tuesday, all Northeast students will be encouraged to wear their PJs all day— makes getting ready for school faster & easier. The kids are getting good at making new friends and starting up conversations, but it’s still helpful to have an adult give them a little nudge in the right direction.
If you have 30 minutes to spare some time between 11am and 1pm on the 20th, please consider volunteering to help facilitate lunch table conversations. Sign up to volunteer or just stop by! Please contact Mrs. Mould with any questions.
Has your child wanted to try a new sport or skill? Perhaps learn a foreign language? Want an introduction to the emerging world of 3-D printing? Well….. EXCITING NEWS! The PTO is partnering with Flex Academies this spring to continue offering after-school programs that keep the fun rolling until the end of the school year!
Flex Academies are fully-run and operated paid after-school programs and will be held at Northeast on Mondays and Wednesdays from April 16th through the week of June 4th. Some of the exciting offerings include Spanish, sewing (think emoji pillows), and Golf & Critter Caravan for your little animal lover. These programs and more will run from 3-4pm following school dismissal.

DUE TO THE WEATHER, FAMILY BINGO NIGHT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY, 3/15, 6:30-8pm!!! Hope you can make it on Thursday evening for the fun. Remember all proceeds support the 5th Grade Musical! Enjoy bingo, hot dogs, a bake sale, raffles & more! Tickets just $5 per person before March 15th and then $7 per person at the door on Thursday evening. Please return ticket order form to the PTO Mailbox in the Main Office before the event to receive discounted tickets.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not working in our favor this month. Due to the SECOND Nor’easter, the Daughter Dance scheduled for Friday, March 9th has had to be postponed. At this time, we do not have another date set, but we will let you know as soon as we do. Don’t give up– you’ll be able to dance and Spring will come! Of course, money will be refunded to anyone who paid and can’t attend on the new date. Please reach out to Tara Gravel or Amy Nanos if you need help with a refund or have any questions.
Northeast’s Restaurant Takeover is back TONIGHT, Monday, March 12th… and this time it’s at one of our local favorites – Coalhouse Pizza! Enjoy brick oven pizza, wings, salads and so much more all while giving back to our school. 20% of your check will be donated to NEPTO, so come hungry and grab all your friends and family for a fun night out! Be sure to let your server know that you are with Northeast to ensure that 20% of your check is returned to Northeast. Feel free to give this flyer to your server at the beginning of your meal. Make copies of the flyer for your neighbors and make it a neighborhood feast!
