01/23: Sportsmania Tuesday- Our Next #MixItUpLunch

Tuesday, January 23rd  is Sportsmania Tuesday! Jets? Giant? Mets? RED SOX!? Show your team spirit at our next Mix-It-Up Lunch on Tuesday, 1/23.

Part of a national campaign launched by Teaching Tolerance, Mix-It-Up asks students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. Wearing clothes sporting the logos of their favorite team, students will receive random table assignments as they enter the cafeteria and enjoy lunch with different students than they normally eat with. According to Teaching Tolerance, “when students interact with those who are different from them, biases and misperceptions can fall away.”

Please volunteer to help kids make new friends on Jan 23rd. Contact Mrs. Mould with any questions.

Dads & Donuts! Mmmmm…. Donuts.

Northeast PTO welcomes all dads (uncles/grandfathers/VIP guys in your child’s life) to a special breakfast on Friday, January 19th at 7:30AM. This event is for ALL students (boys & girls) and their important father figure. Enjoy coffee and donuts with your child and then take a few minutes for a tour of your child’s classroom. Teachers would love to meet you and your child will be so proud to show both you and the school off. Nut-free and gluten-free donuts will also be offered! And, stay tuned for volunteer opportunities… those cups of coffee won’t pour themselves!

The PTO knows mornings are hectic, but we hope families can mark their calendars now to set aside the time to bring dads into the school. Sign-up is NOT required to attend but appreciated in order to help us anticipate the attendance. RSVP here. Not attending Dads & Donuts, but still want to be a part of this fun event? We need volunteers to help with set-up, passing out donuts & clean-up. Please volunteer to help and thanks! Contact Maya Noren or Melissa O’Neill with any questions.
